Coast Ropes is excited to announce our partnership with Coquitlam and Kamloops Search and Rescue (SAR) teams to sell handmade upcycled dog toys from retired rescue ropes. These eco-friendly toys not only keep ropes out of landfills but also provide endless fun for your furry friends. And the best part? 100% of proceeds go towards supporting Coquitlam and Kamloops SAR, making your purchase not only environmentally friendly but also supporting a great cause.
The idea for these toys originated with Tom Rankin, a volunteer with Kamloops SAR, who turned retired ropes into dog toys as a fundraising initiative. Dwight Yochim from Coquitlam SAR then expanded on this idea, producing 150 toys that quickly sold out. Now, with our support, these toys are available in our physical and online stores.
Nick Zupan, President of Coquitlam SAR, expressed his gratitude, stating, "It is amazing to have this support from Coast Ropes. They are well known in the SAR community and now are directly helping to support SAR with their offer to sell these toys."
Each toy is uniquely crafted by SAR volunteers and may differ from photos. The BC Search Dog Association and Good Dog daycare are also helping to distribute these toys. Police dog Mavrick is just one of many happy customers enjoying his new rescue rope toy.
Support SAR in BC with a unique purchase your pup will thank you for.Â
